Q: How often should preventive maintenance be performed on my heating and air conditioning system?
A: Generally speaking, once in the spring for AC and once in the fall for heat should be sufficient. More frequent filter changes and cleaning could be necessary depending on varying factors such as how much time the system is actually in use and the type of environment the equipment is subject to. (i.e. high pollen areas, high traffic areas)
Q: Is CMS licensed to service my boiler and its piping or should I call a plumber?
A: CMS can legally service your boiler and all of the piping after the backflow preventor (a valve on the feed water line to your boiler system which protects your drinking water from being contaminated by the boiler/heating system water). CMS is environmentally friendly and is licensed in Massachusetts for pipefitting, refrigeration and oil burners. We are also EPA certified for refrigerant transition and recovery.
Q: Does CMS offer a duct cleaning service?
A: Duct cleaning is generally performed by cleaning companies and this is not a service we offer. However we do sell, service and install a wide variety of filters, air purifiers and air cleaners that can be added to your duct system to improve your air quality and reduce the need for future duct cleaning services. We also design, fabricate and install complete duct systems for forced warm air and central air conditioning systems.
Q: How can I air condition my home without having bulky duct work installed.
A: CMS offers a complete line of ductless split air conditioning and heat pump systems which offer quiet, comfortable, efficient air conditioning and heating for existing homes where ductwork would be too cumbersome or very difficult to install.
Q: What is a geothermal heat pump and does CMS offer this type of system?
A: A geothermal heat pump is a type of heating and air conditioning system which utilizes ground water as a source of heat in the winter and as a coolant in the summer. This type of system is very reliable, effective and extremely efficient. CMS offers a full line of products and services in this area.
